The Bishop’s Lent Quiet Day.

Led by the Ven Vanessa Herrick, Archdeacon of Harlow.

Arrival at Chelmsford Cathedral from 10am where tea/coffee will be available.  Start 10.15am.

The day finishes at 3pm.  A simple lunch of a vegetarian soup and roll will be provided.  If you have not yet signed up for lunch you are still welcome to attend the day but we may not be able to provide lunch.  Please click here to sign up and Clare Broome will contact you on Monday to confirm if we can offer you lunch.

'Preaching the Passion - an introduction for preachers to the passion narratives in the Gospels'

9.30am for a 10am start in St Cedd's Hall, Cathedral Chapter House.  Finishing at 2pm.

Led by Nicholas Henshall, this morning will be in three parts:

1) the passion narratives in Matthew and Mark

2) the passion narrative in Luke

3) the passion narrative in John.

Each will end with a short plenary.

Maundy Thursday Diocesan Eucharist with the blessing of oils and celebration of ministry.

All are warmly invited to join in this celebration but if you would like to robe and process, you will need to sign up so that a seat can be reserved for you.

Bishop Stephen has asked that clergy wear an alb & white stole or surplice and white stole, readers wear choir dress and LLMs wear an alb and medal.

This year oils will be distributed in phials so there is no need for you to bring containers for your oils. 

If you would like to robe, please click here to sign up so a seat can be reserved and final instructions can be sent nearer the time.  If you do not wish to robe and process, there is no need to sign up.  Just come to the Cathedral for the service.
