Tickets for our Choral Foundation events can all be purchased from here. Please note that a booking fee will be incurred, which is explained on the Ticketsource website. Tickets can also be purchased on the door of each concert, and will not carry a booking fee.

Holy Week Concert

Tuesday 11th April 2017 - 8.00pm

Performances of Thomas Tallis: Lamentations of Jeremiah; Thomas Luis de Victoria Tenebrae responsories. Sung by the Choral Scholars, Conductor: James Davy. Entrance is free with a retiring collection.


Let all the world in every corner sing

Saturday 6th May 2017 - 7.30pm

A concert of sacred music for upper voices, performed by the Chelmsford Cathedral Girls' Choir and Cadence and Cantoria choirs of Abbots Bromley School. Entrance is free with a reitiring collection.

G. F. Handel: Messiah

Saturday 20th May 2017 - 7.00pm

A performance of Handel's oratorio with Baroque ensemble Canzona, to mark the end of the Easter season. To be conducted by James Davy and sung by the choirs of Chelmsford Cathedral, including the following soloists:

Philippa Hyde Soprano; Joseph Bolger Countertenor; Bradley Smith Tenor; Colin Baldy Baritone

Scholar's Showcase Concert

Sunday 18th June 2017 - 5.00pm

The organ and choral scholars in an hour-long concert, followed by a drinks reception. Admission is free with a reitring collection.

Saturday 1st July 2017 - 7.00pm

A gala concert for the 90th anniversary of the choir, including: Carl Orff Carmina Burana; Alexander Borodin Polovtsian Dances; Benjamin Britten Sain Nicolas with Chelmsford Cathedral Girls' Choir, Cathedral choristers & choral scholars, and Chelmsford Sinfonietta. Conductor: James Davy.
