Tickets for our Choral Foundation events can all be purchased from here. Please note that a booking fee will be incurred, which is explained on the Ticketsource website. Tickets can also be purchased on the door of each concert, and will not carry a booking fee.

The Sound of Music Live Screening

Friday 24th February 2017 - 7.30pm

Enjoy a live screening and sing-a-long of the popular film, the Sound of Music. Doors will open from 6.45pm and the film will start at 7.30pm. Tickets are available from www.spectrumscreenevents.co.uk, or by clicking here

Sung by the Cathedral Voluntary Choir. 

 

Come & Sing Duke Ellington

Saturday 4th March 2017 

A half-day exporing music from the Sacred Concert series, culminating in a performance with the Cathedral Choirs and the David Pickthall Big Band. Tickets are available now for the day and can be purchased by visiting the Ticketsource website here.

Tickets for the concert at 6pm are available on the door and cost £10.

St Matthew Passion (J. S. Bach)

Saturday 1st April 2017 - 7.00pm

Sung by the Cathedral Choir & Girls' Choir, in collaboration with Essex Dance Theatre. 

 

Holy Week Concert

Tuesday 11th April 2017 - 8.00pm

Performances of Thomas Tallis: Lamentations of Jeremiah; Thomas Luis de Victoria Tenebrae responsories. Sung by the Choral Scholars, Conductor: James Davy. Entrance is free with a retiring collection.

 

G. F. Handel: Messiah

Saturday 20th May 2017 - 7.00pm

A performance of Handel's oratorio with Baroque ensemble Canzona, to mark the end of the Easter season. To be conducted by James Davy and sung by the choirs of Chelmsford Cathedral, including the following soloists:

Philippa Hyde Soprano; Joseph Bolger Countertenor; Bradley Smith Tenor; Colin Baldy Baritone

Scholar's Showcase Concert

Sunday 18th June 2017 - 5.00pm

The organ and choral scholars in an hour-long concert, followed by a drinks reception. Admission is free with a reitring collection.

Saturday 1st July 2017 - 7.00pm

A gala concert for the 90th anniversary of the choir, including: Carl Orff Carmina Burana; Alexander Borodin Polovtsian Dances; Benjamin Britten Sain Nicolas with Chelmsford Cathedral Girls' Choir, Cathedral choristers & choral scholars, and Chelmsford Sinfonietta. Conductor: James Davy.
