A Safeguarding Prayer

Loving God who is the Saviour of all;
Forgive our inattentiveness,
Our denial of evil,
Our failure to challenge and speak out.
As we seek to follow you more closely,
May we be more faithful,
More willing to serve,
And more diligent in prayer:
We weep with sorrow and guilt over sin and abuse,
And our complicity in it;
Transform our churches into places
Of refuge, compassion, and solidarity
With those who suffer;
As well as places of truth and hope;
Through the love of your Son Jesus Christ,
Who entered into hell to draw us in to heaven
And in whom is our redemption. Amen
