Girls' Choir Celebrates Women in Music

This year marks 20 years since the foundation of the Chelmsford Cathedral Girls’ Choir. To celebrate this significant milestone the choir will be joined by ex-choristers, as well as singers from Brentwood Cathedral, in a spectacular feast of music celebrating female composers. The programme includes a specially commissioned piece by Grace-Evangeline Mason, winner of the Royal Philharmonic Society Composition Prize 2018. Also on the menu are sublime works by Imogen Holst, Amy Beach and Fanny Mendelssohn, and the concert will concluded with Bach’s magnificent Magnificat.

 The choirs will be joined by the outstanding orchestra Eboracum Baroque, organist James Davy, and will be conducted by Laurence Lyndon-Jones. It promises to be one of the most exciting concerts in recent times, make sure you book early to avoid disappointment.
